Program Manager | Engineering & IT
What do you teach at Curtin College?
I am the Program Coordinator for both the Engineering and Information Technology diplomas. I lecture in Engineering Mechanics covering the all the component subject areas of statics, dynamics and fluids.
What do you like most about the subject?
The subject is one of the fundamental subjects in engineering as it allows the application of mathematics to model real world components and systems to enable us to predict behaviour and ensure that products we design do not fail in service.
How would you describe your teaching style?
I try to relate the theory to real world examples, and simplify the material to help make it easier to understand. I try to keep a sense of humour going in the lectures with a collection of bad jokes.
Where else have you worked?
I worked in the United Kingdom, at a College in Cornwall, managing courses and lecturing in Engineering. Prior to that I worked as an Engineer for the British Government.
