Farewell to a famous face!
I have been the proud Student Experience Officer at Curtin College since August 2011 and it is with genuine sadness that I announce that I will be leaving to take on a position at QIBT on the Gold Coast in Queensland.
As Student Experience Officer, the best job at the College (!), I have had the chance to listen to students’ problems and help them find a way to get through their studies as they juggle their homework, part time jobs, relationships, hobbies, moving house and buying cars.
I have also really enjoyed planning activities like barbecues, sports competitions, trips to fun parks, and even a piñata party that helps connect students to make new friends and get to know all the great cultures that exist at our College. It’s so comforting and motivating to meet people around you from different backgrounds that share your personal and academic worries and dreams. I hope that it continues to strengthen and warm our College community.
I will never forget the helping hands of Student Leaders, Academic Peers and those students who like to lend a hand and get involved – working with you makes it easy to come to work everyday and take on new and varied challenges!
I will say farewell to Curtin College on September 6, 2013, and start in Queensland in mid-September. It’s a big move but I look forward to buying a nice house and being closer to family.
Best wishes to all students and staff – I won’t forget you! – and may our paths cross again in the future.
